Do you need more Terrain for your table???

If you answered yes, please take a look at Angry Mojo's kick Starter.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/angrymojogames/big-box-terrain-angry-mojo-games-and-terrain-laser

For $50 you can have actual terrain! It matches, is functional , and for $50 looks sweet.  Paint it up and add some flock and your GTG.

Give them a look and stop being that house with crappy terrain that no one wants to play at ( unless you play Tau ) :)

This on a 6x4. ( and the stretch goal is not shown )

Ruins and Rubble set up on a 6x4 table.

Additional angle.

Do you play infiniti???  need terrain ( of course you do )

Death Guard Terminators WIP

More and more I find myself loving CSM terminators.  Deep strike suicide squads or 10 man strong chain fist ,mech wrecking, bad asses just appeal to me after reading more and more BL books . I have run 30 terminators in a few games and they either do awesome or are just pure fail , but those are the breaks I guess.   I started going though my bits boxes and put together 5 new CSM terminators to add to nurgles army.

I went with the Death Guard colors and added tons of rust and some gore for good measure.  I find that these guys can get too busy and have too many colors so I wanted to keep at least the base color intact ( which is light grey and thrall flesh).

I used the a plague bearer herald head to represent the sergeant of the squad.  After all the leader should set an example :)

So yes the common theme is chainfists.  I love them with all the new Mech running about and knights don't like them at all.

So the green on the original Death Guard I incorporated into the new Nurgle symbols instead of teh stripes on the pre-heresy armor.
I still need to add more weathering powder and blood spray ( not just gore ). Also would like to try the Typhus corrosion paint and see how that works.

More Machine Cult, More Better

So for better or worse I'm still putting together and painting the Mechanicum.  I truly love the Horus Heresy better than reg 40k.  As OP as the 30k rules sound with primarchs etc, they always seem to balance out with the 2 armies.  I know this is due to the fact that everyone is a space marine and allies are pretty much all bros ( very balanced in gear and powers ).

All these are WIP and finshed pics will follow ( I just forgot to take the final pics )

Up first is the core of the Mechanicum fighting force. The Thallax Cohort.  Think of him as a Mechanicum crisis suit.  I love these guys and with jet packs and objective secured I have 4 squads waiting to pounce.  ( these are done I just forgot to take some more pics )

Next is the Tech priest or adhoc Tech Adept, Castellax, and my tech thralls. The Tech Adepts are awesome and If you take the Macrotech ability for your Magos you get these guys as a troop ( and they can take 8 servitors for cheap!!! ). The model is from Hitech and after some conversion he looks pretty good.  Castellax are the bees knees as well.

Here is the Thallax Knight WIP. The Vallejo metallic bronze is super awesome to apply and be aware it is thinned with alcohol.  It also dries super fast so do not go back and touch up. Work from one side and move to the other. Touch ups after it has set and dried 100%.

That's all for now.

Mechcanicum Thallax Cohort Knight Titan

When I saw Knight Titan I was like why can't Tyranids have one ( not a knight , but an equivalent ) !!!  So after waiting and waiting I added one to an army that fit the fluff way more that Eldar having a knight Titan etc.  I give you the Thallax Cohort Knight Titan.

He's been done for about a month now, but again I'm just getting around to posting the pic.  I went with the smooth face plate similar to what the Thallax have.  It give him that creepy indifference that cares not for hero or victim LOL, OK that was lame .  I'll try to get a few more pics up later to highlight the color. ( not a great pic here )

So here is the main transport so far (until FW released the dedicated transport ) for the mechanicum.  The Land Raider Achilles.  Well maybe not the Achilles variant, but the heresy land raiders did not have assault ramps, or a front turret.  Also the melta-gun option is available, as are a few other nasty things.  One of the add on's is a flare shield ( seen on the top as the blue looking globe thing ). I magnetized the melta-guns so I could run other options in the future.  This is a older pic and some additional details have been put on the model, but you can get the jist of what is there.

Some WIP Mechanicum

So been away from posting due to much going on in the real world.  I have been able to meditate ( IE paint models ) to get back to a more calm state recently and so far I'm pretty pleased with what has been produced.

First up are the Lava Pools from Mr Dandy.  A great terrain piece and super high quality resin. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner at Adepticon this last year and want to buy some so bad, but due to my air travel I wanted to wait. Well fast forward and I received them the other day and promptly painted these bad boys to make my table pop.  This was my first time painting larger terrain pieces to a lets say better than mass produced quality.  Needless to say it led me to a positive attitude and so I started assembling more and painting.

Next up we have the Firestorm Redoubt.  I was at a loss of how to paint as most I have seen are bland or just primed. Once I noticed the little lights it was on though.  I added rust effects and lighting on the back of the fort as well.   Still need to add a few more "bling" accents though.

So this is the first of many pics I'll post on my newest army.  The Mechanicum!!! The Myrmidon Secutors are a bunch of bad asses for sure.  They tower over terminator models and have a pretty decent stat line.  This boy-o has the double grav weapon and a charged up power axe.  Pretty fun to paint as well.  I'm playing a all Mechanicum army in reg 40k games and most of the rules if not all aligned perfectly.  In fact I can point out more "op" stuff in reg 40k than in this army.  Lots of tank hunter and low AP weapons in this force.

Now the BIG BOY!   The Thanatar Automaton.  This guy is a beast.  MC with 8's all over his stat line. Even though he's a huge threat ( as most of the mechanicum are ) he really excels at supporting the entire army.  Give him Paragon of Metal and watch out!  He was a blast at painting and the Forge World resin was very very good.  One thing to note is the base.  I have those hexa-terrain kits and I really hate them.  So I have been make them into bits and adding them to bases.  Great mech style flock for those who want a flight deck base or ruined hi-tech battlefield.
