Imperial Knight Shield Markers

So I wanted to way to display the shield facing for my knights and have some sort of hull point marker other than my wound counters.  Well enter Mechanical Warhorse. I picked up a bunch of these as they include side and front/rear shield markers and HP counters!!  A great value and I'm sure your opponent will appreciate not having to ask over and over facing directions.

Zup Bro! Questoris Knight Magaera and Radiation Base

So the Mechanicum has procured a new relic from the dark age of awesome. The Magaera knight!  Since this guy came out from FW I was "Must Have!!"

So the knight arrived Friday and I went to work.  I wanted to stick with my Mechanicus paint scheme the rest of my army sports.

First up is the base. I wanted a base that reflected a battle ( maybe hersey era) that radiation was very prevalent and extreme.  Most of my mechanicum army has Rad-cleanser so it was cool to have a base big enough to show Radiation Weapons.

Contemptor foot , Marine helmet and shell casings. radiation hot spot areas in green

So with the base done next the big guy himself!! I really enjoyed painting this model and assembly was straight forward.

Rad Cleanser on the claw

I wanted it to look like the knight just irradiated the battlefield and on the prowl for enemy targets!
More knights arriving soon :)

Alt Tyranid models forsale

I am cleaning out some hobby stuff for the new year and stumbled upon these guys I had in the wings for quite some time.

I was going to use them for any little gribble that the bugs use especially to show a different bio-morph.  AKA poison etc Hormies or devil gaunts.

So I have 119 of these guys waiting for a good home( 4 boxes ). 1 is missing as I wanted to build at least 1 model when I got them ( will try and find him ).  If your interested drop me a line in the comments and we can work something out ( I'm willing to let these go cheap )

Magos Prime: Beast Mode

              Ima Firen Mah Lazor!

The Magos Prime kitted out in 30k is a true beast. 2+, 3++ , 5+ FNP, T6!!!  I did a little kit bashing to make this bad ass a reality on the tabletop.  The mechdrites add so much to a plain looking model as well as the Rad Cleanser.  The new HH 4, conquest book is out as well and has some very neat Mechanicum relics. (I'm looking at you Scrapcode :) )

I'm also working on 3 huge models for my mech 30k army, but I want to get them all painted up before the big reveal!!! More to come this week!!!

Mechanicum HQ: Thin Man of Mars

Getting kicked back into high gear with some modeling and painting of the Mechanicum.  I really like these guys and if you are a fan of 40k, you will love 30k.  It seems more level even though points are way more and everything seems to be strength 10 AP2.  And Now the Thin Man of Mars !!!

Haters gonna hate!!!

Mister Sinister or the Mechanicum Version of the Thin Man.  I did a Thallax head to tie him into the theme.  Grav weapon and Volkite round him out.  The claw goes as a powerfist usually.

Next is the uber bad ass Krios Venator Tank.  It's a WIP, but almost there. I really love this guy as he is so good at killing armor.  4 shots, ordnance, Str9 AP2!!!!  oh and BS-5.  It does look like a 80's decade bass cannon so I dub the " Crankenstien!!"

Castellax Cohort
What can I say about these guys.  They are awesome as models and rules.

Cyber Occulus escorts
I borrowed these from Warmachine.  They make a great Cyber Occulus, easy to paint , but you'll want to pin them as they are metal.

Servo-automata with flamer

These guys I made with bits and figs from other game systems .  I like how they are turning out and give the mechanicum the creepy vibe they deserve.  This is one of 3 different types I modeled ( melta, servo-arm, and flamer)

Tech-Thrall
Last but not least is my Tech-thrall.  I know this isn't the Forgeworld model, but it fits the bill for me and they are soo much cheaper.  WarGames Factory BTW.  I may add some green stuff cables etc at some point, but 84 of them is a ton of Green stuffing .

Sporocyst and Tyrannocyte descend !

Thank you GW for bringing back the Nid drop pods.  My impulse buy got the best of me and I picked up a few of these guys.  The big question is what to run/build ?  I thought this was a no brainer and said Tyrannocytes hands down, but after thinking about the Sporocyst I'm not so sure. The big selling point to the latter is spore mines.  They don't contest or hold objectives, they are T1 and 1W, slow, and have no shooting, so why are they good??? Board control .  1 or 2 of these guys doesn't do it, but 40 of them will.  I had a good friend spam these out and let me tell you it made my super killy units sooo  angry to have to shoot or kill these when a much better target was in sight.  It also stopped big boys like knights etc for at least a turn.  They also do not give a KP and if you choose to ignore them you get a nice strength 7 or even 10 blast in your face.  The entire time the real working part of the army is grabbing objectives and murdering your troops.  Back to the cysts.  The also shoot blast weapons ( at a poor bs ) but who cares.  3 of them for 300 points pumps out 15, strength 6 Small blasts. Plus they make mines and the giant booger the mucloid spore once per game.  Worst part is they don't move, and take up a heavy slot , but the rate of return is pretty good.  So I have 3 more to build. I'm leaning toward the spore Vs the tyranno, but what do you think?

Ok, Pics of the test models.

IA:13 infernal Relic(s), Infernal Dreads, and GD Infernal tyrannocytes

My hobby time is now becoming "not sleeping time".  I have been painting, building, and organizing 3 armies for the last couple weeks.  Mostly in the wee hours of the night due to crazy insomnia, most was done in 2-6am time frames. Just in time for work hooray!!

First up is the Land Raider Achillies Infernal Relic.  This is from the Imperial Armor 13 book and it is a doosie.  Over 300 points of hard to kill awesome.  The quad mortar of hate is so #fullofmurderfacehate.  If the vehicle loses a HP you up the strength and lower the AP by 1.  Not to be outdone is the 2x twin-linked multi meltas and ceramite armor.  Can you say hard to kill.  I went with a nurgle theme as I have 2 other regular landraiders that run the Plague fathers colors as well.  I also had plenty of icon bits of nurgle to really sell the idea. BTW you can take dirge casters and the other CSM vehicle add-on's as well. Still a WIP but you get the jist.

My HTC has the purple lens flaw so I apologize.

Next up is the CSM Fellblade.  I was going to use this in my mechanicum army, but IA:13 made this possible for my CSM.  It only has be started and I'm still deciding on weathering etc, but I'm pumped about this one.

Sorry for the bad pic as I was in a hurry to run out the door.

So dreadnought and helbrutes.  The pretty much suck, but I really like the formations and I love dreads still.  The IA13 again saves the day and makes them better ( not great ) but now they have some kind redeeming qualities.

This is the 4th paint job on the nurgle dread and I actually like it.  I used the same scheme as the soul grinder I did in a past post.

Here is a ton of work I just signed up for.  ~2 hours a piece for building these guys.  The little spore bits are driving me crazy!!! I have built 1 already as Tyrannocyte, but I may do 2 as Sporocyts. I think the  latter unit will play a huge roll for the nids. The 4th is a craps shoot for now.  Let me know if you have played either unit and your thoughts.
