IA:13 infernal Relic(s), Infernal Dreads, and GD Infernal tyrannocytes

My hobby time is now becoming "not sleeping time".  I have been painting, building, and organizing 3 armies for the last couple weeks.  Mostly in the wee hours of the night due to crazy insomnia, most was done in 2-6am time frames. Just in time for work hooray!!

First up is the Land Raider Achillies Infernal Relic.  This is from the Imperial Armor 13 book and it is a doosie.  Over 300 points of hard to kill awesome.  The quad mortar of hate is so #fullofmurderfacehate.  If the vehicle loses a HP you up the strength and lower the AP by 1.  Not to be outdone is the 2x twin-linked multi meltas and ceramite armor.  Can you say hard to kill.  I went with a nurgle theme as I have 2 other regular landraiders that run the Plague fathers colors as well.  I also had plenty of icon bits of nurgle to really sell the idea. BTW you can take dirge casters and the other CSM vehicle add-on's as well. Still a WIP but you get the jist.

My HTC has the purple lens flaw so I apologize. 

Next up is the CSM Fellblade.  I was going to use this in my mechanicum army, but IA:13 made this possible for my CSM.  It only has be started and I'm still deciding on weathering etc, but I'm pumped about this one.

So dreadnought and helbrutes.  The pretty much suck, but I really like the formations and I love dreads still.  The IA13 again saves the day and makes them better ( not great ) but now they have some kind redeeming qualities.

This is the 4th paint job on the nurgle dread and I actually like it.  I used the same scheme as the soul grinder I did in a past post. 

Here is a ton of work I just signed up for.  ~2 hours a piece for building these guys.  The little spore bits are driving me crazy!!! I have built 1 already as Tyrannocyte, but I may do 2 as Sporocyts. I think the  latter unit will play a huge roll for the nids. The 4th is a craps shoot for now.  Let me know if you have played either unit and your thoughts.

Greater Brass Scorpion Completed!!!

So I ended up not sleeping and to pass the time until work decided to finish this beast.  Very cool model, but if you don't like painting trim it isn't any fun :)

One note before the pics.  I'm getting tired of TO's banning crap based on what someone told them . So much stuff is OP in the regular game this knee jerk reaction to limit anything else is crazy and most is based on " I heard" .  Well why don't you get the book before seeing how this will ruin the game.  Example: Chaos Dreadclaw drop pods are assault vehicles.  OMG so broken!! Well if you read before you make that decision they are assault vehicle, but it specifically says models embarked CANNOT assault the turn it arrives!  So calm down.  Also the chaos land raider achillies is 330 and doesn't have the rule that prevents 2+1 dice for penetration ( it does have ceramite armor though ). For 330 I think it is fair ( and it only transports 6 and isn't and assault vehicle with POMS ).   So keep your Knight formation and wave serpent spam and have fun with the same army over and over.  And please be more closed minded cause that is what our hobby needs . ;)

Greater Brass Scorpion and Friends!

My Ebay binge continues a blistering pace and all due to the Imperial Armor 13 book.  Again if you don't have it yet and are a Chaos player it is a great book.

Well the Brass Scorpion I won 2 weeks ago has been stripped,  put together, and a few coats of paint have made their way onto the model.  I can't wait to play this thing.  So cool looking and perfect for a Lord of War.

I had trouble picking a color to go with, but settled on my current chaos color scheme of red and bright silver.  It contrast well and so many of my other models are sporting that paint scheme.

I started on some lighting effects as well on the main cannon and the scorpion tail thingy.

Above you can see the blue lighting effect and see the start of the armor trim being painted.  I did try 3 other colors but none of them popped as much as the silver. BTW there is a ton of trim to paint on this thing so I'm breaking it up over a few days as not to get sloppy and rush this.

So here is what I mean about going with the same scheme.  I ended up changing the Decimator from brass to silver trim.  It just seemed to pop that much more.

Well after this gets completed I still have the Fell Blade to finish, but I have no idea what paint is going to end up on that.  Maybe a White ( death guard ) or Khornate type paint.

Soul grinder and idle hands.

So I took a chance on a Soul Grinder that i saw on Ebay about 2 weeks ago.  Ended up winning for under $30 shipped.  Had ok paint and looked in decent condition.  Was I wrong.  My bad for not looking closely.  The shoulder above the mechanical arm was gone, huge gaps everywhere, and paint was again ok.  So I was like what the hell at myself!! but it was my fault for not seeing so just in case you sold this to me I still gave you positive feedback and thank you!  No big deal.  Though you do need to work on your shipping time  ( waiting 7 days to even ship was a bit much, 14 days to get to me ) and the packaging was horrible.

Well I went to work on replacing parts, filing gaps and re-glued all the parts I could pull apart. Some of the spikey bits were a total loss as the poor packing removed them from the model with blunt force trauma.

So once done with the repairs I started looking around at pics of Grinders.   I have 2 others and a plague hulk but the paint on them is MEH at best and didnt want to added another ok paint job to a fantastic model.  They were some of the first models I have ever painted so being meh is acceptable until I repaint them ( future project).  Well 3rd eye nuke studios did a grinder that was awesome and I would have bought it on eBay if I wasn't like 3 months late.  So next best thing is I painted my ginder similar to the excellent job they did.  Please check them out and yes I did copy them as they did a great job.http://www.thirdeyenuke.com/

I still have some more details, but it's 95% done. You can see I added Mauler Fiend shoulder armor to cover the missing bit.
